The Hideaway Ohio

Updated: Nov 1, 2021

My family, along with my sister's family, spent the most amazing weekend at an airbnb located in Sarahsville, Ohio called The Hideaway. As we turned into the property, we drove down a long treelined driveway before approaching the most perfect cabin in the woods.

The long driveway loops all the way around the cabin making it convenient to unload all your belongings for your stay.

The cabin overlooks 2 ponds, an upper and lower. The lower pond has a dock that our kids loved fishing off of all weekend. They must have caught over 100 fish and no, that's not an exaggeration and no, they couldn't have been more excited about it!

We entered the cabin through the kitchen and my first impression was WOW!!! Every detail is perfect. The cabinets are a unique, modern cottage green with brushed gold hardware. The granite countertop is a perfect compliment with gold accents running through it. There is a subtle tan porcelain tile backsplash that is also on the hood range. The granite on the island has a waterfall effect that runs to the floor and is complete with leather barstools. It is a dream kitchen and fully stocked with every amenity we could've needed. One of my personal favorites is the black stainless steel appliances. No matter how many times our kids touched them, they still did not leave finger prints!

The kitchen opens into the eat-in-kitchen that has the most gorgeous live edge table, leather and burlap dining chairs, and a bench seat that fit all 8 of us. The windows look out onto the sunporch and side deck with beautiful views of the ponds.

The large family room has a high vaulted ceiling with lots of seating. An absolute show stopper of a chandelier hangs in the center of the room and the credenza if full of different types of games that you can play while hanging out in this beautiful space.

The cabin has 4 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms, each decorated uniquely and perfectly. On the main floor, the master bedroom has the most amazing wallpaper and oversized rattan chandelier. Off the bedroom is the master bathroom. The green tile and brushed gold fixtures are something you'd see in a magazine. Each bedroom is fully stocked with a set of soft white towels for each guest.

Enjoy spending time outside? The Hideaway has not one, not two, but THREE decks to relax on. The front deck, off the kitchen, has a beautiful wicker conversation set and grill for cooking. The side deck has a view of the upper pond and outdoor dining table for 6. It connects to the sunporch which then leads out onto the back deck. The back deck has a view of the lower pond and dock. The rocking chairs are the perfect spot for morning coffee.

Worried there won't be enough for you to do at The Hideaway,? Don't be! The basement is refinished and has a game room full of activities, including shuffleboard, arcade games and basketball. Walking out from the basement, you'll find a set of corn hole boards, fishing equipment and my personal favorite, a salt water hot tub. There are trail maps you can follow to hike the property and don't worry if you're not an avid hiker, the trails are perfectly marked so you can find your way around. There is also a fire pit with firewood for your use and camp chairs. The owners thought of everything you could possibly want or need to make your stay perfect. I can't tell you how much our families enjoyed staying at The Hideaway, but what I can tell you is that the next time we visit, it'll be for longer than a weekend!
